Apply for the fixing of trade fairs, exhibitions or markets
Source: BUS Rheinland-PfalzAs an organizer, you can
- trade fairs,
- exhibitions and
- markets
have them set up.
This means that you are exempt from the provisions of the law on store opening hours, the law on Sundays and public holidays, the Working Hours Act and the Industrial Code. You can submit the application as a trader.
The determination includes the subject, period, opening hours and location of the event. Provided there are no public interest issues to the contrary, markets can be set for a longer period or permanently. For trade fairs and exhibitions, however, this is only possible for events scheduled to take place within 2 years.
It is up to you to decide whether to apply for an event to be designated. However, non-scheduled events are subject to the general regulations, for example
- the travel trade license requirement,
- the store opening law,
- the Working Hours Act and
- the law protecting Sundays and public holidays.
Without a permit, you may have to apply for exemptions from these regulations from the relevant authorities.
A determination replaces these individual exceptions. You receive the so-called market privileges from a single source.
However, you also have special obligations to observe if you have an establishment.
