Submit a waiver of legal remedies for a funded project from the "Media and Freedom of Expression" funding program

After the approval of funding for projects on freedom of the media and freedom of expression, you can waive your right to appeal. You can submit your waiver in writing by post or online.

Request a waiver of appeal by post:

• You send an informal waiver of appeal together with the required documents by post to the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
• The BMZ will check your documents.
• You will receive payment of the funding amount to the specified account.

Apply for a waiver of objection online:

• Go to the website of the Federal Portal and complete the waiver of objection online. The federal portal will guide you step by step through the necessary information.
• Upload the required documents and submit your application online.
• The BMZ will check your documents.
• You will receive payment of the funding amount to the specified account.

• You belong to the following institution: Deutsche Welle Academy.
• Your project is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

There are no costs.

You can only submit a waiver of objection within the first 4 weeks after approval.

The approved funding is available in the respective financial year. It is not transferable to the following year.

You must submit proof of use to the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) by September of the following year at the latest.
