Apply for funding for a new project or a continuation project in the area of development partnerships with the private sector

You can apply for funding online:

• Clarify the requirements for funding with the BMZ. Describe the overall project and the specific project planned.
• Go to the federal portal and complete the application online. The online application guides you step by step through the required information and necessary documents.
• Upload the required documents as a file or make them available as a download link and submit the application.
• If anything is unclear or information is missing, the BMZ will contact you.
• The BMZ will check whether the content-related, legal and financial implementation options have been met.
• If the BMZ is willing to fund the project, you will receive a notification.
• The BMZ then checks the implementation of the project on the basis of interim reports and proof of use and initiates a corresponding payment or reclaim.

As an implementing organization, you must be eligible in accordance with the provisions of grant law.

  • Risks
  • Special interest for the federal government
  • Experience to date
• Description of your overall project
• financing plan
• Declaration that the project has not yet begun
• you may need to ask the BMZ for further explanations and evidence, especially if you are applying for the first time

There are no costs.

The financial resources are only available for the respective financial year. They are therefore not transferable from one year to the next.

You must submit interim reports to the BMZ by April 30 of the following year. (Final) proof of use must be submitted no later than 6 months after the end of the project.

• Legal action before the administrative court
• As a rule, the funding can only be paid out to you once the funding decision has become final, i.e. incontestable. You can bring this about and thus accelerate the payment if you waive your right to appeal.
