A small wastewater treatment plant is a wastewater treatment plant from which less than eight cubic meters per day of wastewater from households and similar wastewater is discharged.
The wastewater from the small wastewater treatment plant can seep away or be discharged into an above-ground body of water.
Surface waters are rivers, lakes, canals, streams, ditches and ponds.
The authority may have to carry out a formal administrative procedure. This gives interested parties the opportunity to comment on the project. To this end, the authority publishes the project and, if necessary, holds an oral hearing.
The permit specifies the type and extent of use. It may be linked to conditions and ancillary provisions. In contrast to an authorization, a permit can be revoked by the authorities.
