Extension of a driving license for passenger transport with a limited period of validity for ambulances

The passenger transport driver's license (FzF) for ambulances is issued for a maximum of five years and can be extended for up to five years at the holder's request.

Please note: If the application is submitted after the expiry date of the FzF, an extension is no longer possible. An application must be made for the issue of a new FzF.

Official proof of place and date of birth (e.g. identity card or passport)
Current registration certificate, if applicable
EU/EEA driver's license
Certificate of good conduct for submission to an authority (service description in the Hessenfinder)
Current information from the driving aptitude register
Proof of physical and mental aptitude
Proof of fulfillment of the vision requirements
Proof of resilience, orientation, concentration, attentiveness and responsiveness (if extended beyond the age of 60)
