Cycling Officer

For the expansion and development of safe cycling in the region, some municipal, city or district administrations have appointed a so-called cycling officer. Depending on the local conditions, he is responsible for the following tasks, among others:

Bicycle-friendly transport infrastructure
Contact person for questions and problems in cycling
Road safety for cyclists
Coordination of cycling activities of the various associations and institutions
Planning and implementation of events with bicycles and bicycle traffic
Expansion of bicycle transport facilities in public transport, bicycle rental systems or bicycle boxes

In some places, the activity as a cycling officer also takes place on a voluntary basis.
