Authorization received for the preparation of weighing certificates for bananas

If you are clearing fresh bananas under CN code (Combined Nomenclature) 0803 90 10 for free circulation in the territory of the European Union, you must be in possession of a weighing certificate (form 0380) at the time of customs declaration. The weighing certificate may only be issued by authorized weighers.
You must submit an electronic application via the EU Trader Portal for authorization as an authorized weigher.
- If you wish to apply for authorization as an authorized weigher, you must submit the application electronically via the EU Trader Portal.

You need the following to access the EU Trader Portal

a user account. If you do not yet have a user account,
- complete the application to set up an EU user account (form 05700),
- send the form by e-mail to the Master Data Management team at the Directorate General of Customs - Dresden office.
- an EORI number (Economic Operators Registration and Identification number). If you do not yet have an EORI number, you must apply for one in your user account in the customs administration's citizen and business customer portal. The user account gives you access to the "EORI No. Administration" and you can apply for a new EORI number

a user account. If you do not yet have a user account,
- Log in to the EU Trader Portal with your access data.
- Complete and submit the application for the authorization type "AWB - status of authorized weigher of bananas (AWB)".
- Send the "Additional sheet of national data", the corresponding records of the weighings and, if applicable, Parts I to III and V of the questionnaire for customs authorizations directly to the competent main customs office with reference to the application number generated by the EU Trader Portal.
- If the main customs office has successfully checked whether all authorization requirements have been met, an authorization will be issued electronically in the EU Trader Portal.
If the requirements are not met, you will receive a notification of rejection of the application by post.
To obtain an authorization to issue weighing certificates for bananas, you must meet the following conditions:
- You have not committed any serious or repeated infringements of customs and tax regulations or serious criminal offenses in the course of your economic activity.
- You are involved in the import, transportation, storage or handling of fresh bananas falling within CN code 0803 90 10 subject to import duties.
- They have an EORI number (Economic Operators Registration and Identification number).
- They offer the necessary guarantees for the proper execution of weighing.
- They have suitable weighing equipment (calibrated scales with an accuracy of 2 decimal places).
- They keep records that enable the customs authorities to carry out the necessary checks.
Please enclose the following documents with your application:

Parts I to III and V of the customs conditions questionnaire
- Authorized economic operators (AEO) do not need the questionnaire
- "Supplementary sheet national data"
- Sample of the records of the weighings
The documents must be sent directly to the competent main customs office with reference to the application number generated by the EU Trader Portal.
There are no costs for you.
You must submit the application before you issue weighing certificates.
You will usually receive notification of your application within 30 days of it being accepted.
