Source: BUS Rheinland-PfalzIf they are self-employed, members of the profession may also exercise their professional duties in a partnership within the meaning of Section 1 (1) of the Partnership Act (PartGG) in accordance with Section 1 of the Rhineland-Palatinate Architects Act.
The application is submitted to the Registration Committee of the Rhineland-Palatinate Chamber of Architects for a decision. The registration committee is a body with judicial independence that checks whether the requirements for registration are met.

A partnership with its registered office or branch office in Rhineland-Palatinate, in which at least one member of the profession is involved, must be entered in the register of companies at the Chamber of Architects.
The partnership agreement must stipulate that the professional obligations under Section 2 are also observed by the partnership.
The members of the profession involved in a partnership are each obliged to take out professional liability insurance to cover any damage resulting from incorrect professional practice and to maintain this for the duration of their involvement in the partnership; the professional liability insurance must provide for five years of subsequent liability. The minimum sum insured for each insured event is EUR 1.5 million for personal injury and EUR 300,000 for property damage and financial loss. The insurer's benefits for all losses caused within an insurance year may be limited to twice the minimum sum insured. The competent body within the meaning of Section 117 (2) of the German Insurance Contract Act is the Chamber of Architects.

For the professionals involved in a partnership company, proof of professional liability insurance to cover damages resulting from incorrect professional practice in accordance with Section 9 (3) of the Architects Act.
The fees are based on the statutes of the Rhineland-Palatinate Chamber of Architects.

There should be at least three months between submitting the application and taking up the planned activity.
A decision on the application must be made within the shortest possible time, but in principle within three months of receipt of the complete supporting documents at the latest.
You have the option of lodging an appeal against the decision of the registration committee with the competent administrative court. The appeal period is one month from notification of the decision.
