Apply for a license confirmation (verification letter) for pilots

You can apply for the issue of a license confirmation for pilots (verification letter):

• Go to the federal portal verwaltung.bund.de and complete the online application.
• You can upload your documents directly.
• Submit the application online.
• The LBA will check your application.
• You will receive a notification and fee notice.
• After you have paid the fees, you can retrieve the notification online and receive the license by post.

• In order to apply for a license confirmation, you must have a valid, current license.
• You must confirm the validity of your license.
• You are
  • a natural person from Germany, an EU country or a third country or
  • a legal entity based in Germany or represented by natural persons from Germany, an EU country or a third country.

when you apply for a license confirmation:

• Copy of your current license (front and back)
• Copy of your identity card or registration certificate

if you are a representative:

• Proof of authorization to represent you
• Completed criminal offense declaration form

if sending to an authorized person:

• Proof of assumption of costs
