Applying for a noise protection certificate
Source: BUS Rheinland-PfalzWith a noise certificate, you can prove that the noise of an aircraft does not exceed the level required by the state of the art. The EASA publishes the current noise limits for aircraft on its website.
You can apply for a noise certificate in the following situations:
- Application for traffic approval
- Change to the noise values of a licensed aircraft
Gliders and balloons do not require a noise certificate.
The noise certificate issued for the aircraft is an integral part of the general traffic approval for this aircraft.
When completing the noise certificate, take particular care to enter the information correctly. In particular, the technical data and operating limits must match the data sheet.
You must also ensure that you enter the correct number ("Record-No") from the EASA noise list (EASA - European Aviation Safety Association).
Deviations will result in the Federal Aviation Office (LBA) being unable to determine the noise values required for the noise certificate.
