In Rhineland-Palatinate, responsibility for performing the tasks of the Genetic Engineering Act (GenTG) lies with the Struktur- und Genehmigungsdirektion Süd (licensing and monitoring), the Struktur- und Genehmigungsdirektion Nord (monitoring) and the Ministry of the Environment, Energy, Food and Forestry (fundamental issues, approvals).
