Apply for an international registration certificate

An international registration certificate, also known as an international vehicle registration document, is a translation of your registration certificate part I into several languages. Your international vehicle registration certificate is a supplement to your vehicle documents.

With an international registration certificate, you can travel with your car to countries outside the European Union (EU). If you want to travel with your vehicle within the EU, your regular vehicle registration certificate (registration certificate part I) is sufficient.

You do not always need an international vehicle registration certificate if you are traveling outside the EU with your vehicle. Which documents must be presented in which country may vary. You can find further information on the websites of the respective foreign representative offices.
