Applying for an exemption from the provisions of the German Road Traffic Regulations (StVO)
Source: Serviceportal Rheinland-PfalzYou can only apply for exemptions for certain regulations of the Road Traffic Regulations (StVO). Exemptions are possible for the following regulations, for example:
- Regulations on road use
- Regulations on stopping and parking
- Regulations on the height, width and length of vehicles and their loads
- Regulations on the use of seat belts and the wearing of safety helmets
- Prohibitions or restrictions based on traffic signs
- Prohibition,
- entering a highway or a motorway or driving vehicles that are not registered there
- Transporting people
- to create traffic obstructions
- to use loudspeakers
- to offer goods or services on the road
- to drive on Sundays or public holidays
- to park in residential areas at certain times with a motor vehicle over 7.5 tons and trailers over 2 tons
If you receive an exemption permit, the competent authority can also revoke it. In addition to the exemption permit, you may also receive conditions and requirements that you must comply with.
