Applying for a replacement VHF radiotelephony certificate (UBI)

You can apply online or in writing to the Deutscher Motoryachtverband e.V. (DMYV) or the Deutscher Segler-Verband e.V. (DSV) for a replacement copy of your officially recognized VHF radiotelephone certificate for inland navigation (UBI).

Online application:

• Call up the federal portal using any browser.
• Open the application for a replacement VHF radiotelephone certificate for inland navigation (UBI).
• Complete the online application.
• Upload the requested documents.
• Send the application digitally.
• Submit your passport photo and any other documents by post to the DMYV or DSV.
• You will receive feedback from the DMYV or DSV.
• The fee will be collected by SEPA direct debit

Application by post:

• Download the current application form from the DMYV or DSV websites.
• Complete the application in writing and print it out.
• Alternatively, you can print out the application first and then fill it in legibly by hand.
• Attach all required documents.
• Send the application and all required documents by post to the DMYV or DSV.
• Fees are collected by SEPA direct debit.

• You only apply for the replacement document for an officially recognized UBI.
• You must be at least 18 years old to submit the application.
• If you are a minor, the application can be submitted by a person with parental authority.

• completed and signed application form
• current passport photo
• if not lost or stolen: original radio certificate or radio certificates
• in case of name change: proof of name change

There is no deadline.

• Legal action before the locally competent administrative court

• This application does not apply to the initial issue or transfer of an officially recognized VHF radiotelephony certificate (UBI).
• If your UBI was issued by the Amt für Binnen-Verkehrstechnik (ABVT), formerly known as the Fachstelle der Wasserstraßen- und Schifffahrtsverwaltung für Verkehrstechniken (FVT), please apply there for a replacement issue.
