Teacher Training Traineeship Admission
Source: BUS Rheinland-PfalzAdmission to the preparatory service is handled separately for each teaching profession by the Trier Supervisory and Service Directorate (ADD). The ADD allocates the vacancies to be filled according to aptitude, qualification and professional performance and, together with the study seminars, makes the allocation to the training schools.
You first apply via the ADD online portal. You will then receive confirmation by e-mail with further information on the procedure and the necessary forms. You submit these together with further written documents, for which you will be given a deadline that must be observed.
The ADD will carry out the selection and admission procedure and inform you of the result and, if applicable, the assignment to the training school.
The responsible authority is the Trier Supervisory and Service Directorate.
A completed teaching degree (Bachelor's/Master's degree or first state examination for a teaching position) is required for recruitment to the preparatory service. Further requirements are a clean certificate of good conduct and a commitment to the free democratic basic order. In addition, the candidate must be medically fit to be a civil servant on revocation, which must be determined by an official medical examination. Proof of measles immunity must be provided by the recruitment date.

- a recent passport photo (please note the name on the back of the photo);
- Declaration and instruction on the duty of loyalty to the constitution in the public service (you will receive this in the automatic e-mail notification after successful online application, as well as here in the attachment);
- Complete curriculum vitae (in tabular form), dated and signed;
- Civil status documents;
- officially certified copy of the school leaving certificate or a subject-related university entrance qualification;
- If applicable, officially certified proof of a waiting period that fulfills the requirements of Section 127 (4) of the State Civil Service Act (LBG), e.g. military service, federal voluntary service;
- officially certified copy of the certificate of the first state examination for the relevant teaching position or
- officially certified copies of the Bachelor's and Master's certificate as well as the relevant examination certificate and the certificate of recognition of the university examination as a first state examination (applicants from RLP)
There are no fees.

An appeal may be lodged against the decision of the Trier Supervisory and Service Directorate on admission to the preparatory service and, if necessary, an action may be brought.

No.
How is the training organized?
The training takes place both at the Studienseminar and at a training school. At the training school, candidates are assigned to independent and supervised lessons.
Is it possible to spend the preparatory service at a German school abroad?
No, as part of the training takes place at the Studienseminar.
What happens if I don't get a place in the preparatory service?
You will receive a waiting point for an unsuccessful application. Waiting points are taken into account in the admission procedure.
Do I also receive a waiting point if I do not accept an offered place?
