Take the second state examination in law
Source: BUS Rheinland-PfalzSuccessful completion of the second state examination in law qualifies you to hold the office of judge in accordance with Section 5 (1) of the German Judges Act. It is a prerequisite for working as a judge, public prosecutor, lawyer or as a lawyer in the higher administrative service.
You can take the second state examination in law if you have completed a law degree at a university with the first examination and have completed a subsequent two-year preparatory service, the legal clerkship. The second state examination in law serves to determine whether, based on your overall personality and your professional and general knowledge, you have the ability to understand and legally assess life issues.
