Apply for accompanied driving from the age of 17 with an existing driving license
Source: Serviceportal Rheinland-PfalzIn Germany, you can drive a vehicle in categories B and BE, i.e. cars and cars with trailers, from the age of 17. This applies if the following conditions are met:
- You have passed the driving test.
- You have subsequently applied for an extension of this driving license for categories B and BE as part of "accompanied driving from 17".
- An authorized and previously appointed person accompanies you.
From your 18th birthday, you may drive the vehicle unaccompanied. However, if you drive a vehicle before your 18th birthday without being accompanied by a named person, your driving license will be revoked. You will also receive
- a fine
- a point on the driving aptitude register
- extension of the probationary period
- the order of an advanced training seminar
