Alternative school recognition

As the provider of the alternative school, you must first apply for approval of your institution. You must then operate the course successfully for three years. You then submit the application for recognition to the responsible authority.

The school supervisory authority at the Supervisory and Service Directorate is responsible for processing applications for recognition as an alternative school. The recognition itself is then granted by the Ministry of Education on the basis of the proposals made by the Supervisory and Service Directorate.

• As a rule, the private alternative school or the educational program of a private alternative school must have been successfully operated for three years after approval.
• The approval requirements must continue to apply.

• Application for state recognition as an alternative school
• Proof of successful completion of the educational program
• Proof that the requirements for approval continue to be met

free of charge

Recognition of an alternative school is only granted at the beginning of the school year (August 1 of each year); you must submit the application for recognition at least three months in advance. at the latest.

If all recognition requirements are met, processing takes between 3 and 6 months.
