LIF – Learning during holidays
Source: BUS Rheinland-PfalzFrom the summer holidays 2022, the adult education centres (vhs) and district adult education centres (kvhs) in Rhineland-Palatinate will be able to organise needs-based, free holiday learning opportunities close to home in close coordination with the schools. With LiF – Learning during Holidays, pupils of all grades and all types of school can consolidate, practice and deepen their school learning material. LiF courses are mainly offered for practicing the subject matter and basic skills of the subjects German and mathematics, depending on the needs and personnel resources on site also for other subjects. At the same time, it is a common concern of the cooperation partners to strengthen children and young people in their social skills.
From 2022, LiF courses will be offered mainly during the summer holidays, possibly also during the autumn holidays. Information on specific event periods and locations as well as on planned LiF course offers can be requested from the (district) adult education centre on site.
The participating (district) adult education centres organise the offer on site in close consultation with the schools and the school authorities. Registration for LiF takes place via the child's school or via the (district) adult education centre on site.
On the LiF page of the Ministry of Education, general information and materials on LiF are made available to parents and guardians, pupils, schools, adult education centres, municipalities and those interested in leading a course:
Please contact the local (district) adult education centre or your child's school.
- As a rule, the courses take place every week in the amount of 15 to 20 teaching units.
- The course size is usually between 8 and 12 participants.
- Registration takes place via the school or the (district) adult education centre on site.
- The exact period of the courses is determined by the adult education centres in close consultation with the schools and the school authorities. In principle, the summer and autumn holidays are available for the offers.
The (district) adult education centre on site provides information on whether learning materials are provided or whether the children and young people's own learning materials are used in the LiF courses.
To participate in LiF, a binding registration via the school or adult education center is required.
