Acquire the right of use of the cemetery
Source: BUS Rheinland-PfalzIn municipal cemeteries, row graves must be made available in any case (note: the right of use cannot be extended). These can be urn row graves or row graves for earth burial.
In addition, the municipality can provide elective graves (right of use can be extended and one has the choice of location), also for both forms of burial or as mixed graves.
The municipalities, in the case of church cemeteries, the carriers of church burial places (= parish) regulate the use of the cemetery by statute or user regulations.
According to Section 2 of the Rhineland-Palatinate Burial Act, it is the duty of the municipalities to establish cemeteries and mortuaries. The burial of deceased residents of the municipality is permitted in municipal cemeteries

Municipal cemeteries must always provide row graves. Further details are regulated by the city or municipality by statute.
The use of municipal cemeteries, mortuaries and cremation facilities is also regulated by the cities and municipalities by statute.
Burial
The will of the deceased is decisive for the place, type and conduct of the burial, insofar as legal provisions or public interests do not conflict with this.
A burial can be carried out as a

A burial requires the written approval of the local regulatory authority.
As a rule, the commissioned funeral home takes care of all the necessary official formalities.
