In order to ensure the Sunday and holiday rest and the rest of the sales staff, sales outlets are generally closed on Sundays and public holidays. Per year, a maximum of four general Sundays open for sale per municipality may be released by ordinance. There is no entitlement to the release of Sundays open for sale vis-à-vis the municipality. The permitted opening hours may not exceed five hours; it must not be between 6 and 11 o'clock.
