Street names and house numbers are used for orientation in the urban or municipal area and fulfill a classification function for all personal or location-related data.
In order to integrate new buildings into an existing house number sequence, it may be necessary to change existing house numbers.
Checking whether a house number has been affixed by the owner of the property/house is the responsibility of the local authorities as the general regulatory authority. The local house number signage is also checked in the event of complaints. The property owner is then requested to ensure that the house number is visible from the traffic area.
Note: The property owner is obliged to provide his property with the house number determined by the city. The obligation includes obtaining, affixing, maintaining and bearing the costs; this also applies to renumbering
