Nuclear fuels: production, handling/processing - authorization

Any person who constructs, operates or otherwise holds a stationary installation for the production or processing or treatment or fission of nuclear fuels or for the reprocessing of irradiated nuclear fuels, or substantially modifies the installation or its operation, shall require a license.

For the construction and operation

• of installations for the fission of nuclear fuels for the commercial generation of electricity and of
• facilities for the reprocessing of irradiated nuclear fuel

are no longer licensed. This does not apply to significant changes to installations or their operation.
