Apply for official test number for quality wine, sparkling wine and semi-sparkling wine for quality wine testing
Source: BUS Rheinland-PfalzYou require an official inspection number if you wish to bottle or market quality wine, Prädikat wine, quality sparkling wine produced in specified regions (psr), quality liqueur wine psr or quality semi-sparkling wine psr (wine, quality sparkling wine, liqueur wine, semi-sparkling wine with a protected designation of origin).
The quality inspection serves to check the criteria of the product specification.
You can apply for the test number from the competent authority.
You can apply for an examination number in writing or online.
- If you wish to apply in writing:
- The first step is to have an official analysis carried out by an approved laboratory.
- Submit the completed, signed application form together with 3 sample bottles to the responsible testing authority.
- 2 sample bottles will be sealed and returned to you for storage. One bottle remains with the testing authority for tasting.
- Once the tests have been completed, you will receive a paper test certificate with the result for the test number applied for.
- If you wish to apply online:
- You create an online application for an examination number via a corresponding state portal. Add the analysis data created by an approved laboratory to the application, protected against changes. You will then receive a document / sticker to download for labeling and assigning the sample bottles.
- You then hand in the labeled sample bottles to the responsible testing laboratory.
- Once the tests have been completed, you will receive a test certificate in electronic form with the result for the test number applied for.
Depending on the area of origin of the product, you can submit the application to one of the five inspection bodies of the Rhineland-Palatinate Chamber of Agriculture.
