Housing promotion: Modernization of owner-occupied housing
Source: BUS Rheinland-PfalzThe state of Rhineland-Palatinate offers funding for the modernization of owner-occupied housing as part of its social housing promotion program in order to support households in the state that are dependent on public assistance in providing adequate housing.
The owners or those entitled to use the property are eligible to apply. You will be supported if you and the members of your household meet the relevant income limits, which are graduated according to household size.
Funding is granted on the basis of the published funding programs, which conclusively define the funding requirements and conditions, by means of funding commitments in accordance with the available budget funds.
The funding decision (funding commitment) determines in particular the purpose of the funding, the amount and type of funding.

What does support for owner-occupied housing mean?
If you want to buy your own home, a condominium or shares in a cooperative, want to build or modernize, you have the option of receiving a subsidy from the state of Rhineland-Palatinate.
What does this subsidy look like?
The subsidy takes the form of a subsidized loan from the Landesbank - Investitions- und Strukturbank für das Land Rheinland-Pfalz (ISB).
The amount of the loan is based, among other things, on the total costs of your project.
What are the advantages of such a loan?
In addition to attractive loan conditions, the Investitions- und Strukturbank für das Land Rheinland-Pfalz (ISB) offers a repayment subsidy from 5%. This means that you do not have to repay part of the loan amount.
How do I know that I am eligible to apply for such a loan?
In order to receive a subsidy, you and your household must not exceed certain income limits, among other things. Can I also receive a grant for a home with a granny apartment?
This may be possible in individual cases. The extent to which this is possible must be checked during the application process. The expected income from renting out the granny apartment will be added to your household income.
Can I rent or sell the property during the term of the loan?
