You will have to wait at least 2 weeks for a regular passport. An express passport takes around 3 to 4 working days. If this is not quick enough for your travel plans, you can apply for a temporary passport. You must justify this to the Citizens' Registration Office.

You will receive the temporary passport immediately when you apply, so you do not have to wait for it.

The temporary passport does not contain an electronic storage medium (chip). Your fingerprints are therefore not recorded.

In some countries, such as the USA, visa-free entry is only possible with a passport that contains a chip. If you wish to enter with a temporary passport, you will therefore also need a visa in these cases.

Paid parking spaces are available in the parking garage Forum Mittelrhein and in the parking garage Schängel-Center.

Bicycles, scooters and parking facilities
It is not permitted to bring bicycles or scooters onto the premises of the Bürgeramt. Suitable parking spaces are available in the immediate vicinity, e.g. in Gymnasialstraße (opposite the Bürgeramt), at Willi-Hörter-Platz and at the Schängel-Center.

Animals in the Bürgeramt
Please note that dogs and other pets are not permitted in the Bürgeramt. Assistance dogs are of course exempt from this rule.
