Entrance examination for secondary schools/grammar school
Source: BUS Rheinland-PfalzIn Rhineland-Palatinate, there is generally no entrance examination to be taken for admission to a secondary school (Gymnasium).
Exception:
Admission to grade 7: For a change from a Realschule/Realschule plus to a Gymnasium in grade 7, an entrance examination is then required, unless a corresponding recommendation has been made by the Realschule/Realschule plus. At the end of a cross-school orientation level, a trial lesson is also possible.
Admission to the upper secondary school: An entrance examination is required if no entitlement has been acquired in the Realschule/Realschule plus/Integrierte Gesamtschule.

Fees will not be charged for a possible entrance examination.
The exams take place immediately before the summer holidays. The definition of the respective school must be observed.
