Apply for infection protection instruction including certificate

Do you want to work or be active in kitchens of restaurants, canteens and cafés or in facilities for communal catering?
Then you need a certificate from the health office that is no more than 3 months old. This proves the successful participation in an instruction about the measures for the protection against infection.
The aim of the instruction is to enable you to recognize your own symptoms of infectious diseases or symptoms of your employees at an early stage. You should also be able to prevent further spread as well as contamination of food and to assess when you should no longer carry out your activities in the event of certain symptoms.
The certificate is issued either by the health department or by a physician appointed by the health department.
Online instruction - Please note the information
The health department of the Rhein-Lahn district is responsible for people who have their main residence in the district. The following information on online instruction applies to these persons.
Persons whose main residence is outside the Rhein-Lahn district must contact their local health authority.
How does online instruction work?
The Rhein-Lahn district health authority has commissioned the Glehn Technology Center (TZG) with the technical implementation of online hygiene instruction. The instruction process is as follows:
- You book an appointment for the online instruction.
- The data is transmitted in compliance with data protection regulations.
- You will be contacted via WhatsApp, Facetime, Signal or Ginlo via video call on the booked date. Please switch on your device 10 minutes before the appointment.
- Show your ID card and look into the camera to ensure that you are the person registered (authentication).
- You will then receive your access data (participant code) for the instruction and can select the language in which you would like to receive the instruction. Foreign languages are displayed as subtitles in the German-language instruction film.
- Now all you have to do is actively click on and approve the data protection consent or instructions for the instruction. You can then take part in the instruction.
- This begins with the instruction video. You can pause the movie or watch sequences again at any time.
- Afterwards, please read through the instruction leaflet, which is also available in other languages.
- After the instruction, participation in a test is mandatory. There are five questions, each of which has only one correct answer.
- The test can be repeated if necessary.

- You can then download the certificate from the system and print it out. Alternatively, the certificate will be sent to you by e-mail.
Are there versions of the online training in other languages?
Citizens who are not fluent in German can choose a version with subtitles in other languages.
Underage participants
Underage participants must send written consent by e-mail to ifsg@tz-glehn.de before the appointment.
School internships
Instruction for a school internship takes place in coordination with the public health department and the respective school.
