Apply for admission to a comprehensive school
Source: BUS Rheinland-PfalzIn the integrated comprehensive school (IGS), children of different backgrounds, talents and inclinations are taught together. This enables joint learning beyond primary school up to year 9 or 10. For the first time, pupils are promoted from year 9 to year 10. At the IGS, pupils can achieve any of the following school-leaving qualifications
- the Berufsreife (Hauptschulabschluss) after grade 9
- the Qualified Secondary School Certificate I (Realschulabschluss) after grade 10
- the academic part of the entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences or
the general higher education entrance qualification. It is not too early to choose the right school-leaving qualification.
The integrated comprehensive schools in Rhineland-Palatinate, which have now been expanded throughout the state, are predominantly four-form schools in grades 5 - 10 with an upper secondary school (MSS)
