Setting penalties and fines in road traffic
Source: BUS Rheinland-PfalzIn addition to the police, the cities and municipalities monitor both stationary and moving traffic in their respective areas. Initiated administrative offense proceedings are concluded with the payment of a warning fine or punished with a fine notice. The responsibility for municipal traffic monitoring lies with the public order offices of the cities and municipalities.
The local municipal and city administrations are responsible for punishing administrative offenses in so-called stationary traffic (e.g. parking violations).
The Speyer Central Fining Office (ZBS) is responsible for punishing moving traffic offenses and traffic accidents. This includes, for example Speed and distance violations, drug and alcohol consumption in road traffic or violations of dangerous goods legislation.
