Obstruction by parked vehicles in stationary traffic
Source: BUS Rheinland-PfalzIn many cities and municipalities, parking spaces for motor vehicles are rare. Wrong-way parkers or parked vehicles without a valid parking ticket are omnipresent and can pose a danger to all road users. Accordingly, improper parking can carry fines, warnings or fines as well as the towing of a motor vehicle.
The competent authority for police tasks in road traffic (traffic surveillance) is the municipal administration as the local regulatory authority for the prevention of dangers caused by stopping and parked vehicles on public roads and squares, with the exception of the federal motorways, the municipal administration of the non-affiliated municipality, the municipal administration and, in district-free and large district-affiliated cities. If the prevention of the danger by this authority does not seem possible or does not seem possible in time, the police will take action.
For example, the parked motor vehicle is located in:
- Parking prohibition
- Stopping restriction
- in front of entrances
- Fire brigade access roads
- Footpaths and cycle paths
- in the 5-metre range of intersections and junctions
- on a severely disabled parking lot etc.
For incorrect parking or parking without a permitted parking ticket, different warnings or fines may be due. The amount depends on the catalogue of fines – stopping and parking.
An admissible appeal against a fine notice is the objection.
If you as a parker have been parked by other motor vehicles and are prevented from parking without an accident, you can call the towing service. In order not to have to bear the costs yourself, it is advisable to commission the towing by the responsible authority.
