Apply for education in a day group
Source: BUS Rheinland-PfalzEducation in a day group is particularly suitable for children of school age and above who exhibit behavioral problems or developmental delays. The children and young people are supported with social and curative educational measures.
Education in a day group is a semi-stationary offer. This means that the child receives
- the same therapeutic and educational services as in residential care (e.g. in a home or foster family),
- educational services that it does not receive sufficiently in the family, and
- school support
The child is looked after in the day group during the week after school and can stay with the family and thus in their familiar surroundings.
Social learning and a regular daily structure help the children and young people to cope with conflicts or organize their everyday lives and provide stimulation for meaningful leisure activities, among other things.
In addition, the children receive support in school matters and young people are helped with their professional integration.
The group size is usually between eight and ten children.
The youth welfare office involves the parents intensively in the upbringing in a day group (e.g. through targeted counseling sessions, parents' evenings, parents' leisure time or parent-child meetings).
