Agri-environment and climate measures
Source: BUS Rheinland-PfalzWith the "Development of Environment, Agriculture and Landscape" (EULLa) programme, the state of Rhineland-Palatinate promotes environmentally friendly and sustainable agriculture. Farmers should take an active role in environmental protection and nature conservation.
In order to meet the differing objectives and specific local circumstances, agri-environmental measures are offered that affect the entire sector or the entire company. At the same time, individual area-related measures are also offered on arable land and grassland
Participants in the programme commit themselves to complying with certain management requirements over a period of five years.
The following measures are offered:
- Environmentally friendly grassland management in the company and animal-friendly husbandry on grassland
- Diverse crops in arable farming
- Retention of underseeding and catch crops over the winter
- Creation of waterside strips
- Environmentally friendly steep and steep slope viticulture
- Hem and band structures
- Conversion of individual arable land into grassland
- Grassland management in the floodplains of the Southern Palatinate
- Alternative crop protection methods
- Contract Nature Conservation Grassland
- Contract Nature Conservation Characteristics
- Contract Nature Conservation Vineyard
- Contract Nature Conservation Arable
- Contract Nature Conservation Orchards
- Biotechnical crop protection processes
- Ecological management in the company
The regulations under the new reform of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) from 2023 will also have an impact on agri-environmental programs and the corresponding support premiums. To give you a better overview, the Rhineland-Palatinate Rural Service Center has published a premium calculator on its website.
It is important to note that the introduction of the eco-schemes for direct payments has transferred management requirements from the agri-environmental programs to the first pillar. This means that the eco-schemes cannot be combined with the EULLa program components without restrictions. A detailed overview of the compatibility of EULLa (old and new procedures) and the eco-schemes can be found in the DLR combination tables:

Please also note that the EULLa program components listed by the state of Rhineland-Palatinate above under "Service description" are no longer offered in this form. A current overview of the GAP-SP program parts (formerly EULLa) from 2023 can be found here.
