Purchase of public transport tickets

Local public transport (ÖPNV) serves the transport accessible to every person by public transport in regular and on-demand traffic. Local transport is defined as follows:

• the majority of passengers have a maximum travel distance of 50 km
• the total travel time of passengers of one hour is not exceeded

Local transport serves to connect homes and workplaces as well as public, social and cultural facilities in line with demand. For the use of local public transport (ÖPNV) a so-called local transport ticket is necessary. This ticket can be purchased online or in person from the transport associations. The purchase of discounted public transport tickets is also possible.
