Apply for compulsory school deferral
Source: Serviceportal Rheinland-PfalzParents have the opportunity to apply for deferral of school attendance if it is to be expected that the child will not be able to successfully participate in class one lessons of primary school for health reasons. In principle, the deferral of school attendance is to be regarded as an exception.
For children who are deferred from school attendance for a school year, the school management can order the visit of a school kindergarten or recommend the visit of a day care center.
There is a corresponding regulation for registration at special schools. In this case, the school board decides.
The decision is made by the school management on the basis of the school admission interview with the parents and information from the day care centre, if the parents have consented to the transfer, in consultation with the school doctor. The decision will be communicated to the parents in writing by 15 June.

- It is questionable whether your child can successfully participate in class one lessons for health reasons.

- There are no fees.
The reasoned application can be made at the time of school registration, but also at a later date by 15 May of the school year of enrolment at the latest.
The decision will be communicated to the parents in writing by 15 June.
Objection is possible.
