Vocational High School (BBS)

The BOS 1 leads to the Fachhochschulreife.

It entitles the holder to study at a university of applied sciences or higher education institution in all Länder of the Federal Republic of Germany.

In addition to job-oriented specialist knowledge, it also imparts general educational knowledge.

BOS 1 is run full-time and lasts one school year.

It is divided into the following disciplines and focal points:

Formation
Health & Social Affairs
Economy and administration
Technology with a focus on: agriculture, engineering, natural sciences

In addition to the general compulsory subjects, it includes subject-related subjects:

in the field of technology: technology/computer science in the respective focus
in the field of economics: business administration/information processing and accounting
in the field of social work: pedagogy and psychology
in the field of design: business administration, design theory and aesthetics

Prerequisite for admission to BOS 1 is the qualified lower secondary school leaving certificate ("Mittlere Reife") and

vocational training of at least two years, or
the completion of vocational training in a health care profession regulated by federal law, or
successful civil service training or
five years of professional activity in this field

Attention: An aptitude test is also required for admission to the field of design.

Registration deadline: 01 March of each year.

Certificate of lower secondary education
Skilled workers' certificate or journeyman's certificate
Certificate of completion of the vocational school
