The successful attendance of the Technical School of Nutrition and Home Economics takes at least two years full-time (in part-time form, the duration is extended accordingly). The technical college is divided into the following disciplines (in brackets your later job title):

Housekeeping (Master of Municipal Housekeeping/Master of Municipal Housekeeping)
Housekeeping, focus on housekeeping manager (state-certified housekeeping manager)

In this field of study, you will acquire the right to enter a university of applied sciences degree in Rhineland-Palatinate at the same time as you graduate.

The aim is to impart qualified professional competencies through learning modules that are oriented towards operational tasks, processes and organizational structures.

Admission requirements for the Technical College of Home Economics, specializing in Home Economics Management are

1. a qualified secondary school leaving certificate I or a qualification recognized as equivalent and

2. completion of at least two years of relevant vocational training regulated by federal or state law as well as completion of vocational school, provided that attendance at vocational school was compulsory during the vocational training, and subsequent relevant employment of at least one year.

Admission requirements for training as a master of home economics:

You should have completed vocational training as a housekeeper or a related profession (e.g. cook). You should also be able to provide evidence of two years of professional experience in this field. If you are unable to provide proof of professional experience, this must be completed during the school-based further training course. Vocational training and professional activity are relevant if they correspond to the respective subject area. Up to two years of independent management of a multi-person household can be credited towards the professional activity.
