Epidemic
Source: BUS Rheinland-PfalzAn epidemic is the temporal and local accumulation of a disease within a population group, which in the narrower sense is infectious diseases, i.e. diseases that can be transmitted from person to person.
A cross-country and continental spread of a disease is called a pandemic.
Epidemic diseases are many tropical diseases such as .B dengue fever, but cholera, flu or typhoid can also trigger epidemics.
In order to combat epidemics, quarantine and segregation measures are among other things possible. In addition, major events can be cancelled. This is decided by the local health authorities in consultation with the relevant regulatory authorities.
