Textbook lending
Source: BUS Rheinland-PfalzParticipation in the freedom of learning materials/textbook lending is possible in Rhineland-Palatinate for all pupils of all grades and grades of the general education schools, the elective school courses in full-time form at the vocational schools and the colleges.
The system of textbook lending in Rhineland-Palatinate is divided into the freedom of learning materials (free lending) and lending for a fee (paid loan).
Registration period for paid textbook lending for the 2025/2026 school year from May 16 to June 12, 2025
Pupils attending grades 5 to 13 of a general education school or vocational school in the coming school year can voluntarily take part in the paid textbook lending scheme. Registration is possible from 16.05.2025 to 12.06.2025 on the internet portal (parent portal) https://secure3.bildung-rp.de/LMF_Elternportal. Registration at a later date is not possible.
An activation code is required for registration, which will be distributed to each pupil in the form of a letter to parents via the schools. If the activation code has not been handed out by 16.05.2025, please contact the school or the district administration directly.
After logging into the user account of the parent portal, the student must be activated and the binding order completed - activation alone does not trigger an order!
A new order is required each school year in order to participate in the textbook lending scheme. This also applies to pupils attending the upper school or a two-year course at a vocational school or repeating a grade at a general school. The final order must also be placed within the deadline in the event of discrepancies in the textbook list or incorrect class or school allocation. The textbook package will be automatically adjusted according to any changes.
If an application for free learning materials has already been approved, registration in the parents' portal is no longer necessary.
The district administration provides support with registration
As not every household has an internet connection, a service point will be set up at the district administration during the registration period. They will be happy to assist with registration on the Internet portal by prior appointment (telephone: 06322 961 2309, e-mail: astrid.schroeder@kreis-bad-duerkheim.de). The service point is located in the office building of the waste management company next to the district administration (office access: Prof.-Otto-Dill-Straße 4a).
To register, please bring your parents' letter (activation code), ID and bank card.
If registration is successful, the corresponding textbooks will be handed out to the pupil at the beginning of the school year at the school.

School book issue
In the first week of school, the books are handed out in the schools to pupils who are taking part in the textbook loan scheme. You will receive the exact dates from the school. Please give your child a bag for transporting the school books.
Each book package is accompanied by a loan slip with information and instructions. Please be sure to follow these. Please check the book package immediately upon receipt for any damage or missing/wrong books.
If there is any damage (unusual signs of use) to the books, you can report this online at www.kreis-bad-duerkheim.de/schulbuchmaengel within two weeks.
The 17-digit barcode label glued into each book must not be removed. This is used to identify the book.
If books are marked "copy to follow later" on the loan slip, they will be issued to your child via the school office in the next few weeks.
