Delays in naturalizations

Cause: Extremely tight staffing situation

Due to the extremely tight staffing situation in the district administration's immigration office, there are currently delays in processing applications for naturalization. "We are trying to clear the backlog as quickly as possible and are working hard to improve the staffing situation," emphasizes District Administrator Hans-Ulrich Ihlenfeld. In view of the ever-increasing shortage of skilled workers, it is extremely difficult to fill positions that have become vacant at short notice. The district administration is aware that this problem can have complex consequences for those affected. We can only ask for your understanding and emphasize that we are doing everything we can to improve the situation as quickly as possible.
