Source: BUS Rheinland-PfalzBulky waste can be collected on fixed collection dates or on request.

A maximum of three cubic meters per household can be collected. A complete house clearance cannot be carried out by the bulky waste collection service.
Definition of bulky waste
Bulky waste from private households is household furnishings that you would (theoretically) take with you when you move house and which, due to their size, bulkiness or weight, do not fit into a residual waste container or could damage it or make it difficult to empty.
What belongs in bulky waste?
Bulky waste includes, for example, furniture, camping and garden furniture (plastic), chests, bed frames, mattresses, slatted frames, shelves, ladders, carpets, baby carriages, suitcases (without contents), curtain rails, large comforters, sports equipment such as skis, surfboards, etc.
What does not belong in bulky waste?
Car wrecks, car accessories such as car tires, car batteries and fenders, motorcycles; waste from construction and renovation work such as doors, windows, pipes, sanitary facilities and heating systems, oil tanks and oil containers, electrical and electronic equipment; bicycles, tricycles and scooters; ironing boards, camping and garden furniture (wood/metal); packaging materials; garden waste; hazardous substances; carpets, old clothes; blankets; crockery; lights and small items packed in bags, boxes or other containers or residual waste, as well as items longer than 2.20 meters.
Items made of metal and electrical appliances can be registered for separate scrap / e-scrap collection on call.
Provision of bulky waste
The registered bulky waste must be provided by 6:00 a.m. on the specified date. This ensures that the public traffic area is not soiled or that general traffic safety is not impaired and that loading can be carried out quickly.
Please place your bulky waste made of wood separately. The collection is carried out by two vehicles at intervals, one of which only takes wood, so it may be that only part of your bulky waste is taken away at first.
Please note:
Only the registered bulky waste will be taken away! Parts that do not belong to the bulky waste will not be disposed of. Bulky waste made of wood and residual bulky waste must be provided separately. Other households may not place any bulky waste without prior notification.
Ordering bulky waste
You can place your order in person, in writing, by e-mail, fax or by telephone with the responsible clerk (see fee notice). You will then be informed of the collection date. For route planning, please provide an approximate quantity or name of the items to be collected. Bulky waste registration from tenants is also accepted. In large residential complexes, joint collection dates are agreed with the property managers or owners. Tenants should ask their property management or owners about this.

TIP:
When putting out your bulky waste, also think about the health of the waste loaders. Mirrors and objects made of glass are therefore not allowed in the bulky waste because of the risk of injury.
