Requesting access to the register of building encumbrances
Source: BUS Rheinland-PfalzBy making a declaration to the building supervisory authority, property owners can assume obligations under public law to do, tolerate or refrain from doing something on their property that does not already result from public building law. The purpose of the building obligation is to remove obstacles that could prevent development (or change of use) in individual cases. An example of this is the parking space building obligation, which under certain conditions can be used to ensure under public law that the required parking spaces are created on another property within a reasonable distance.
Anyone who can demonstrate a legitimate interest can inspect the register of building encumbrances and obtain copies.
Information on building encumbrances can be provided both verbally and in writing.
Written information on building encumbrances can be requested by e-mail from the contact persons listed below. This requires information on the property (location, district, street, parcel number) as well as an invoice address to which the information on building encumbrances is to be issued.
