Out of force - having a severely disabled person's ID card extended

Since January 1, 2013, the severely disabled person's pass has been issued in the form of an identification card (credit card format). It is therefore no longer possible to renew it for technical reasons. If your severely disabled person's ID card expires, you can apply for a new severely disabled person's ID card.

If you still have an old severely disabled person's ID card in DIN A6 paper format, it will remain valid until it expires. However, this will no longer be extended, but will be replaced by a new severely disabled person's pass in credit card format when it expires.

The Citizens' Service also helps with the preparation of a letter for the extension of the severely disabled person's ID card and forwards the letter to the Office for Social Affairs.
