If the child lives in a foster family, the Youth Office must ensure the necessary maintenance of the child. The Youth Office therefore pays foster parents care allowance in the form of a monthly lump sum and, if necessary, one-off subsidies and subsidies, for example for the initial equipment of the foster family, important personal occasions or holiday and holiday trips of the foster child.

In addition to the material maintenance benefits, the care allowance includes an amount for the costs of education, which are granted as compensation for the educational benefit provided.
