Certificate of eligibility for housing
Source: BUS Rheinland-PfalzThe Wohnberechtigungsschein is an official certificate that a tenant can use to prove that he or she is entitled to move into a publicly subsidized apartment (social housing) in Rhineland-Palatinate.
The certificate of eligibility is valid for a maximum of one year.
You can apply for the housing entitlement certificate from the responsible office in two different ways:
- General certificate of eligibility for housing
The applicant is entitled to move into any social housing. - Special housing entitlement certificate
Prospective tenants apply for a specific social housing unit in compliance with the special eligibility requirements. With this certificate of eligibility for housing, the applicant is entitled to move into (only) this specific social housing.
To move into an apartment subsidized by public funds, a certificate of eligibility for housing is required, and
the subsidized apartments may only be occupied by persons whose income does not exceed the following income limits.

The calculated amount must be rounded up to the nearest EUR 100 (Section 13 (3) sentence 2, 1st HS LWoFG).
Proof of annual income must be provided (salary statements, certificates of maintenance, child benefit, etc.).
