Do you produce food, handle it or place it on the market? Do you come into contact with these foods directly or indirectly (via consumer goods, such as plates or cutlery)? Do you want to work or be active in kitchens of restaurants, canteens and cafés or in facilities for communal catering?

Then you need a certificate from the health office that is no more than 3 months old. This proves the successful participation in an instruction about the measures for the protection against infection.

The aim of the instruction is to enable you to recognize your own symptoms of infectious diseases or symptoms of your employees at an early stage. You should also be able to prevent further spread as well as contamination of food and to assess when you should no longer carry out your activities in the event of certain symptoms.

The certificate is issued either by the health department or by a physician appointed by the health department.

Hygiene instruction according to § 43 Infection Protection Act (IFSG)

Initial instruction for all persons who regularly produce, handle or place food on the market commercially or who are employed in kitchens in restaurants and other communal catering facilities (e.g. canteens).

Instruction must be given by the public health department before starting work for the first time. Repeat instruction (every 2 years) is the responsibility of the employer.

Costs:
€30.00 per person as part of a collective instruction
€60.00 per person as an individual instruction

Interns, trainees, FSJ, FÖJ and BuFDis. are free of charge if we have a certificate from the internship/training company or employer.

Dates:
Collective instruction: Thursdays 3:30 pm. Duration: approx. 1 hour.

After completing the online instruction, you will receive your proof as follows:
- If you register using a service account, you must visit the public health department during the specified opening hours to pay the applicable fee and collect your proof.
- If you have uploaded proof of exemption from fees, this will be checked by the public health department and you will be able to download your proof once it has been approved by the public health department.
- If you have completed the online instruction without registering, you must visit the public health department during the specified opening hours to identify yourself with an ID document, pay the fee on site (not applicable if you present a proof of exemption from fees that has been checked by the public health department) and collect the proof.

ID card OR other proof of identity (e.g. passport, driver's license, etc.)
Declaration of consent from a legal guardian, for underage participants
Proof of exemption from fees (training contract, internship contract, proof of FSJ, BFD, proof of voluntary work).

You will be charged a fee of 30.00 Euro will be charged.

If you belong to one of the following groups, you will receive the instruction free of charge:

Pupils who are doing an internship to find a career in food businesses,
Persons doing a voluntary social or ecological year or the Federal Voluntary Service,
Persons who are to be employed

as pre-school pupils,
for vocational training,
as vocational trainees or interns

to provide voluntary assistance to hospitals

children, young people, mothers and fathers if they are to take part in a recreational measure.
