Registering a secondary residence
Source: BUS Rheinland-PfalzIf you move into an apartment that you do not primarily use, you must register it as a secondary residence. A secondary residence is any other dwelling that is not primarily used.
Regardless of nationality, every resident is subject to a general registration obligation.
The place of residence must be registered within 14 days of moving in.
A confirmation from the landlord must be submitted with every registration or change of registration within Worms. The form is available for download (see Downloads). When the owner moves into an apartment, the landlord's confirmation of residence must be submitted as a self-declaration. Premature registration of an apartment is not possible. Written registration is also not possible.
For minors:
From the age of 16 and owning their own home, persons must register themselves.
In the case of a family move, parents can also register their children up to the age of 18.
Before the age of 16, the persons whose home the minor is moving into are obliged to register. This is usually the parents.

Anyone who does not register or does not register on time is committing an administrative offense and can be fined in accordance with § 54 BMG.
