Youth social work (Streetwork)
Source: BUS Rheinland-PfalzStreetwork ("street social work") is aimed at adolescents and young adults who, as individuals or as groups, signal their need for help in some form and whose center of life is public space. In most cases, these are groups of young people who have little or no connection to other aid structures. Due to the affiliation of Streetwork to the Youth Welfare Office, young people up to the age of 27 can be cared for, whereby in principle anyone in need of help can receive advice. Street workers also support young people who are in public and mediate conflicts of interest with other users of public space.
What is the social space service anyway?
Together with the residents of the Wormser Nordend and Neuhausen districts and institutions that provide social or community services in this area of the city, services are developed and brought together, leisure activities are organized and encounters and exchanges are facilitated. The social area service also offers a point of contact for general questions and problems. As a social area service, we are present in public relations work and create low-threshold preventative services for families in the background. The existing service structure is taken into account and dynamically developed.
The aim is to improve the living conditions of all people who live in a social area (district, village). The focus is on their interests and needs. The prevention and education chain is made up of the various age groups from birth/pregnancy through to the world of work. Bridges and a preventative education chain are built together, transitions between the individual age groups are designed and accompanied and attempts are made to close gaps.
We look forward to hearing from you by e-mail, telephone or by dropping by the office.
