Public libraries are an essential part of the freely accessible information, education and cultural offerings in our society. As a rule, they are municipal institutions.

Special information for District-free City Worms
Please bring a valid identity card with you when registering. Your personal reading card costs 20 euros per year, reduced 10 euros. Children and young people under the age of 14 can register free of charge; they require the written consent of a parent or guardian. You must always bring your library card with you; it is not transferable. If you lose your card, you should inform us immediately. Please also inform us immediately of any changes of name or address.
