Cybercrime information provision
Source: Serviceportal Rheinland-PfalzEach federal state has a "Central Cybercrime Contact Point" (ZAC service) for the economy. The ZAC offices are located in the state criminal investigation offices.
Cybercrime includes all criminal offenses that are directed against the internet, data networks, IT systems and their data or that are committed using IT, for example
- Data/identity theft,
- data theft,
- online extortion by means of:
- DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) or
- ransomware/cryptotrojans,
- Man-in-the-middle attack and
- CEO fraud.

Data protection:
The tasks of the Data Protection Officer are described in Article 39 of the General Data Protection Regulation. These are activities in three areas: Support, advice and control.
The DPO raises awareness and trains employees involved in processing operations and serves as a point of contact for staff in data protection matters. Monitoring compliance with data protection regulations is also part of his duties, as well as informing and advising the Lord Mayor and employees with regard to data protection regulations.
Information security:
The Information Security Officer designs measures to ensure information security and is responsible for constantly monitoring their implementation.
They develop the security guideline and contribute to the development of an information security strategy.
Their tasks also include identifying, reporting and investigating security-related incidents, advising and supporting the IT department in IT security matters and developing practical and pragmatic solutions in close cooperation with the specialist departments.
He communicates clearly and actively on information security issues in the form of reports, training courses and information flyers.
